Tuesday - Thai Yoga - 18:15-19:30
Thai Yoga
A Yin style of Yoga. Gentle …. very deep… working with the breath.
A special ‘set sequence’ of Asanas, accompanied by beautiful music.
An inter-connecting flow of meditative movement Guided by the teacher, Listening to your body…. By the third lesson you harmonise with the rest of the class ….Eyes closed. Patience to relax...courage to go deep. Switch off your mind. …allow your body to gentle ease/relax into each stretch, letting go very slowly. TY works with gravity, never static, no holding just relaxing into positions.
--------------
Western style of sitting on chairs plus modern life patterns and stresses, has created a
multitude of imbalances, misalignments and shallow breathing.
Restrictions in movement acquired over the years, We ‘listen’ to each vertebrae, hips, knees, muscles and ligaments. Stretching, rotating very slowly, safely, re-balancing mis-aligned body posture. Working closely with the Chinese Meridians and Thai Sen energy lines, Thai Yoga deeply releases connective/facia tissue in turn helping the lymphatic system.
A Thai Yoga class develops listening skills, embraces universal energy, replenishes chi, re-
minds the body not to hold. Gentleness with no competition.
Life’s, ‘not enough time’, stress factor has, for many, led to the inability to connect with the parasympathetic state, needed to relax the body naturally.
With a little patience you can achieve the ‘un-doing’ in a few weeks.
Whether beginner or advanced, all move together in flow. Both teacher and student have said that it is ‘like no other style’, harmonising and replenishing mind, body and chi.
May we all be able to put on our own socks at 90 ….

Wednesday - LEROC Dancing - 20:00-22:00
LEROC dance classes are held at Axminster Guildhall every Wednesday evening from 8pm - 10pm. Admission is only £7.
LEROC is a smooth fusion of jive and lan dance styles, which is easy to learn, great fun to do and exciting to watch.
Attending a LEROC class is a combination of learning to dance and enjoying a fun, social mid-week night out... often without realising the physical exercise you're doing!
There are many health benefits to dancing, so why not give it a shot? You don't need any previous experience, or expensive equipment, you don't even need to bring a partner. All you need is yourself!
Please contact Russell on 07967 282585 or russ@leroc.com for more information or visit our website at www.leroc.com
Friday - Fitsteps - 10:00-11:00
Fitsteps is a dance exercise class created by two of the professional dancers from Strictly Come Dancing. It is based on both Ballroom and Latin dances but, unlike the programme, you don't need a partner. As it is a dance exercise class, the emphasis is on enjoyment NOT technical excellence (far from it!). The idea is to have a workout at your own level, and have some fun.
If you are interested in joining please contact Helen on 07921 124677 or just come along on Friday morning.
MONTHLY
Once a month on a TUESDAY - WI - 18:30-21:00
Contact: lynnmlloyd@aol.co.uk
The WI is a unique organisation shaped by its members. In 1915, we set out to give women a voice and to be a force for good in the community. Since then, our members and our ambitions alike have grown tremendously. Today, we are the largest women’s organisation in the UK and we pride ourselves on being a trusted place for all women of all generations, to share experiences and learn from each other. A WI membership offers the opportunity to meet women in your local area in-person and virtually, to make friends and make a difference in your community. We campaign nationally on a wide range of issues and provide life-long learning and self-development opportunities for women in England and Wales.
In 2023 we introduced WI Supporters Options as another way to engage with the WI movement without being a WI member. This is an alternative way to engage with our work.
